About the opportunity:
As Governance and Compliance Manager, you will join the Development and Governance leadership team in an exciting growth phase and take a pivotal role in embedding best practice across education governance, accreditation, compliance, and quality assurance.
With responsibility for a small, high-performing team, this role offers the opportunity (subject to timing) to contribute to the recruitment and onboarding of new team members. You’ll lead the development of systems and frameworks that underpin ANZCA’s education and CPD programs, ensuring alignment with national and international regulatory standards. You’ll also provide strategic advice, data insights, and oversight of compliance and accreditation activities, playing a key role in embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
This a permanent, full-time role reporting to the Head of Education Development and Governance and offers the opportunity to influence at both an operational and strategic level.
The Development and Governance unit sits within ANZCA’s Education and Research department. Together, the team leads the strategic design and continuous improvement of training and professional development programs, including curricula and assessment frameworks, digital learning, policy and governance systems, and reporting and evaluation.
This team also supports ANZCA’s education governance committees and communities of practice—ensuring our programs are responsive, evidence-based, and aligned with global best practice and local health equity priorities.

You are a confident governance or compliance professional with a passion for quality and education. You are ready to step into a role where you can influence strategically, lead a team, and drive real-world impact.
You will ideally bring:
- Strong experience in governance, compliance, accreditation or quality systems, ideally within an education, healthcare, or membership-based environment
- Familiarity with medical education standards and regulatory bodies such as AMC and or MCNZ
- Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and empower a team
- Strength in policy, systems thinking, risk management, and continuous improvement
- Comfort with data and insights—using evidence to shape strategy and reporting
- Commitment to principles of cultural safety, health equity, and inclusion
