About the opportunity: 

The Professional Development Administrator is part of the Professional Development team, responsible for the administrative operations of the ANZCA and FPM Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program and professional development offering.  

The CPD program promotes and implements proven and accepted educational standards, strategies, and tools. These are used to assist fellows and CPD participants to plan and participate in CPD activities that meet their learning and practice needs, leading to better patient care. 

This is a permanent, full-time role reporting to the Professional Development Manager.  

The role of the Professional Development Administrator is primarily responsible for: 

  • Providing administrative support for day-to-day CPD activities, including telephone, in person and email assistance to CPD participants and processing CPD Non-fellow applications and annual fees.  
  • Updating online CPD portfolio details and records, including verification checks and end of annual cycle processes.   
  • Supporting the recognition of suitability process for Emergency response applications.  
  • Committee Support Officer (CSO) for CPD Committee and CPD project group meetings. 

This position may involve work outside normal business hours, e.g., occasional evening teleconferences/web conferences and work required to meet critical deadlines. This may also involve very occasional weekend work.  

The Team 

The Professional Development team sits within ANZCA’s Education and Research department. Together, the team leads the strategic design and continuous improvement of training and professional development programs, including curricula and assessment frameworks, digital learning, policy and governance systems, and reporting and evaluation.

You will ideally bring: 

Essential: 

  • Sound experience gained in a professional environment in an administrative role
  • Providing quality service to members / customer groups  
  • Demonstrated experience working on databases 
  • Strong customer service experience 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; the ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner  
  • Sound analytical skills; the ability to problem solve member enquiries and source and analyse data  
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, the ability to confidently liaise with a diverse range of people including professionals, fellows and staff and as a part of a team.  
  • Well-developed written communication skills; the ability to prepare accurate and concise minutes, draft correspondence, write reports, newsletters and procedure manuals  
  • Sound planning and organising skills, including the ability to effectively handle conflicting priorities, establish timeframes and meet deadlines  
  • Sound initiative and self-motivation, the ability to work effectively without close supervision 
  • Computer skills - 

            Intermediate to advanced level: MS Word, Outlook, Internet; Excel  

            Aptitude to learn the in-house member database and online CPD portfolio and CPD app 

Desired: 

  • Experience gained in an education, medical sector, membership based, or committee environment would be an advantage  
  • Experience working on online databases would be advantageous 
  • Experience working as a Committee Support Officer
