About us:  

The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.  

The college's purpose is to serve our communities by leading high quality patient care in anaesthesia, perioperative and pain medicine, optimizing health and reducing the burden of pain.  

 About the opportunity:  

The Project Manager is responsible for delivering ANZCA’s strategic and operational initiatives through effective management of assigned projects within the Project Management Office (PMO). This role oversees the full project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, governance, reporting and risk management.   

The Project Manager will work in close partnership with business stakeholders (staff, College members and trainees) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and aligned with ANZCA’s strategic objectives.  

This position reports to the Head of Projects.

You will bring your expertise in project management best practices, complemented by strong stakeholder engagement capabilities and a genuine enthusiasm for learning and professional growth.  

Specifically, you will have:   

Essential: 

  • Extensive experience in project management, with a proven track record of delivering projects in a structured PMO environment.  
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile).  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & stakeholder management, including the ability to develop and maintain collaborative and constructive working relationships at all levels and across diverse groups internally and externally.  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and drive outcomes in a dynamic environment.  
  • High level of analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.  
  • Solid experience using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. 

Desirable: 

  • Experience in the healthcare, education, or not-for-profit sectors.  
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or project management certifications (e.g., PMP, AgilePM).  
  • Experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools such as MS Project, Monday.com or equivalent to efficiently manage projects.
