About us: 
The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM), is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand. 
 
The college's purpose is to serve our communities by leading high quality patient care in anaesthesia, perioperative and pain medicine, optimising health and reducing the burden of pain. 
 
About the opportunity: 

The position is responsible to the New Zealand National Committees of ANZCA and FPM through the ANZCA CEO and the Executive Director, New Zealand. 

The position will;

•    Coordinate the activities and provide administrative support to the ANZCA FPM New Zealand National Committee (NZNC), the Committees’ chairs and the Executive Director, New Zealand National Office.  
•    Is responsible to the College Council and New Zealand National Committee for the coordination of the specialist international medical graduates (SIMGs) assessment processes in New Zealand.
•    Provide support for other events such as network groups, stakeholder functions, examinations and ANZCA and FPM representation on internal and external committees, working groups and conferences. 
•    Arrange travel, accommodation, agendas, minutes, reports, correspondence and other tasks associated with meetings and events.
•    Assist the ANZCA staff with a number of administration processes relating to areas such as Training and Education, Policy, Communications, Finance and other duties as required. 
•    Support finances processes; invoices, reimbursements, other expenses, and revenue; ensure coding is correct and checked against activities and budget prior to forwarding to Melbourne office for processing.  

The role is offered on a part-time basis (2.5 days a week) as part of a job share arrangement. The role will be based at the New Zealand National Office in Wellington. Flexible working options are available. 

This position reports to the Executive Director, New Zealand.     

About the team: 
This is one of a number of positions located across the states and territories (NSW, QLD, WA, SA/NT, ACT & Tas) and New Zealand that provide varying degrees of administrative support to the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) operating within those regions, reporting to the Executive Director, New Zealand National Office.
The New Zealand team is a small collective group of experts in their chosen fields, communication, policy, SIMG and committee’s support.

Specifically, you will have:  
Essential:
•    Sound senior experience gained in a professional environment in an administrative role involving the organisation of meetings, teleconferences and committee support.
•    Excellent written communication skills, the ability to prepare accurate minutes, agendas and draft a range of correspondence and reports.
•    Strong customer service orientation.
•    Well-developed planning and organising skills, including the ability to effectively handle conflicting priorities, peaks and troughs, establish timeframes and meet deadlines.
•    Sharp attention to detail.
•    Well-developed interpersonal skills, the ability to confidently liaise with a diverse range of people including professionals, fellows, trainees and staff. This includes successfully negotiating outcomes in order to achieve deadlines.
•    Excellent oral communication skills and professional telephone technique.
•    Sound initiative, the ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
•    Excellent teamwork, the ability to work effectively as a part of an inter-professional team.
•    High level PC Skills:
o    Intermediate to advanced level: MS Word
o    Intermediate level: Outlook, Internet; Excel
o    Aptitude to learn, use and coach others in the use of ANZCA systems including ANZCA Connect, Sharepoint, Zoom and the e-Portfolio system

Desirable:
•    Experience gained in an education environment or health sector will be an advantage.
•    Exposure to web-based applications including videoconferencing is desirable.
•    Experience in the New Zealand health sector including an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in health and the effects of inequity in the health sector.
