The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.

About the opportunity:
The position of Committees Coordinator is one of a number of positions located across the states and territories (NSW, SA&NT, WA, VIC, ACT and TAS), and New Zealand, that provide varying degrees of administrative support to the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM) Regional committees that operate within those regions.
Key objectives of this position are:
• Provide committee support to the Queensland Regional Committee and sub committees
• Provide support and services to the Queensland Anaesthetic Rotational Training Scheme (QARTS)
• Provide support for the bi-annual regional committee elections
• Support the provision of Queensland Regional Office content on the ANZCA website, and in college publications (including the Bulletin and e-newsletters)
• Internal and external stakeholder relationship management
This role reports to the Regional Coordinator, QLD and involves occasional work after-hours (evenings) and weekends to support meetings, events and courses with dates planned well in advance. Time In Lieu will apply for these additional hours.
About the team:
The Regional team forms part of a supportive national group of regional teams, headed by the General Manager Regional Operations. We work across multiple time zones in Australia. The regional team is also a part of the Fellowship Affairs team. We have a can-do attitude, we are focused, friendly and driven to achieve the best outcomes for our trainees and fellows.

This is an excellent role for someone with high level administration and coordination skills who loves a high degree of variety in the role and thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
Specifically, you will have:
Essential:
- Sound administrative experience gained in a professional environment, with demonstrated experience supporting committees, including coordinating meetings and taking minutes
- Excellent planning and organisation skills with strong logistics management abilities; the ability to effectively handle workload peaks and troughs, and manage conflicting priorities
- Demonstrated tenacity and judgement to manage up effectively and elicit information from stakeholders to deliver within tight timeframes
- Strong written communication skills; the ability to prepare succinct and accurate minutes of meetings and attend to a broad range of written assignments including correspondence, reports, and procedure manuals.
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills; the ability to liaise effectively with a range of professionals.
- Sharp attention to detail
- Strong initiative, judgement and learning orientation, demonstrating a willingness to take on new tasks, the ability to problem solve and work independently, and escalate matters appropriately
- Strong team orientation, the ability to work cooperatively with others, attend to delegated tasks, and provide back up support in periods of peak workloads or absences
- IT skills:
- Excellent keyboard skills, specifically fast and accurate data entry
- Intermediate to Advanced – MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
- The aptitude to learn and gain expertise in the in-house database system (iMIS)
- The aptitude to learn, use and coach others in the use of online meetings and online applications.
Desirable:
- Experience in a professional membership or academic environment would be valuable, but not essential
- Experience in the administration of training courses or education programs
- Experience coordinating and providing administrative support for large scale recruitment processes
- Experience in the use of information database systems
