The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.

Position Overview

Reporting to the WA Regional Coordinator, this 12-month fixed-term contract offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality education, examinations and professional development activities for anaesthetic trainees and fellows across Western Australia.

This varied and hands-on role involves coordinating a busy annual calendar of courses, meetings and events, while also providing high-level administrative support to key regional committees and wider continuing professional development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Introduction to Anaesthesia course, Final Examination preparation long course, Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA) Part 3 course and other trainee education activities across WA
  • Provide high-level administrative support to the WA Regional Trainee Committee and Supervisor of Training Committee, including agendas, minutes, correspondence and follow-up actions
  • Organise meetings, venues, catering, audio-visual requirements and online meeting support using Zoom and SharePoint
  • Manage registrations, payments and event records in iMIS, while maintaining accurate and well-organised digital filing systems
  • Support examination coordination, invigilator arrangements, trainee selection activities and regional events as required
  • Contribute to continuing professional development activities and the effective day-to-day operation of the WA regional office

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven administrative experience in a professional environment, including supporting committees, taking minutes, and coordinating meetings and events
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and accurate minutes and communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with medical professionals, trainees and committee members
  • A high level of initiative, sound judgement and meticulous attention to detail
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and the aptitude to learn and use systems such as iMIS, Zoom and SharePoint
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach and a willingness to contribute to process improvements and support colleagues when required

Experience in a medical administrative environment or supporting professional committees will be highly regarded.

Please note that this role involves after-hours and weekend work in support of committee meetings, courses, examinations and regional events. Time-in-lieu arrangements apply.
