The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.

About the opportunity: 

The Training Coordinator will;  

  • Coordinate the end-to-end anaesthesia training administration and ensure data accuracy, compliance, reporting and audits 

  • Oversee and support trainee applications, progression and records  

  •  Administer training fees, invoicing and payments  

  • Coordinate and provide business user support on training systems  

  • Drive process and system improvements  

  • Support team operations, stakeholders and communications 

  • Undertake other duties when required as directed 

This is a permanent, full-time role reporting to the Training Manager. This position is occasionally required to work out-of-office hours to attend committee meetings, and work additional hours during peak periods. Time In Lieu is in place for any additional hours worked.  

About the team: 

The Training and Assessment Unit under the wider Education function, leads the delivery strategy and manages training, assessment & support by developing and executing strategies to enhance trainee and supervisor support, ensuring effective assessment delivery, and upholding governance and quality standards. 

Keys to your success: 

The Training team is seeking an outstanding Coordinator who is a natural relationship builder and is operationally savvy. You would have excellent administrative skills coupled with strong communication skills. You would bring substantial experience in project and change management and leadership potential. 

Specifically, you will have:  

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating training, education or program administration, in a complex or regulated environment with specific relevance to specialist training programs. 

  • Strong experience supporting and coordinating enterprise systems or digital platforms, with responsibility for user access, data maintenance, issue resolution and routine system operations. 

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply training regulations, policies and system rules to resolve complex operational issues.  

  • Well‑developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and peak workloads across multiple systems and stakeholders.  

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and support to a range of stakeholders, including trainees, supervisors, DPAs and internal staff. 

  • Demonstrated experience supporting training data quality, reporting and compliance obligations. 

  • Experience supporting process and system improvements, including testing and implementation activities. 

  • Demonstrated interest in, or emerging capability with, AI-enabled tools, automation or digital workflow improvement in an operational context. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions, and to coordinate effectively with IT, vendors (if required) and subject matter experts to resolve issues. 

  • Strong customer orientation and ability to handle difficult and complex inquiries with empathy and professionalism. 

Desirable 

  • Experience working with medical, specialist or postgraduate training programs. 

  • Experience working with training management, portfolio or membership systems. 

  • Experience providing functional or indirect leadership, coordination or mentoring of administrative or operational staff. 

  • Familiarity with information governance, privacy, audit or compliance requirements in a professional or education context. 

  • Experience contributing to digital transformation, change management, system optimisation or adoption of new technologies within a training or education environment.
