The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.

About the opportunity:
The primary role of Chapter Coordinator is:
• Successfully develop, implement and maintain business processes and engagement strategies for the participation of hospitals as clinical immersion sites in the delivery of the ANZCA Course in Perioperative Medicine
• Administration and operational delivery of the ANZCA Course in Perioperative Medicine and other ANZCA Perioperative Medicine educational programs.
• Committee support officer with administrative and coordination duties to the Board of the Chapter of Perioperative Medicine, its committees and project groups.
• Coordinate the recognition pathway process into the course.
• First point of contact for enquiries, information related to the Chapter of Perioperative Medicine.
This is a newly created permanent, full-time role reporting to the Manager, Chapter of Perioperative Medicine.
You will be based at ANZCA House on St Kilda Road, Melbourne with hybrid, flexible working options available.
This position may include occasional travel and will include work outside normal business hours to support meetings and events; this may include weekends. Time in lieu arrangements may apply in these circumstances.
About the team:
The Chapter of Perioperative Medicine is a small new team that will be working together to establish the new Chapter of Perioperative Medicine in 2024. The team is supportive, collaborative and inclusive and take pride in our capacity to lead and drive educational excellence in perioperative medicine.
The Chapter of Perioperative Medicine operates within the broader Education and Research Department and oversees the Course in Perioperative Medicine, the perioperative medicine fellowship program and the Chapter committees which have a pivotal role in advancing the body of knowledge of perioperative medicine among specialist medical colleges, government and health workforce.
It is a brand-new business unit supported by a newly established team as part of ANZCA’s strategic direction in the Perioperative Medicine space. The team is goal driven and is dedicated to ensuring the Chapter’s success and growth. It operates efficiently, skilfully managing multiple administrative responsibilities and complex activities. As a close-knit group, chapter members demonstrate strong collaboration, co-create solutions, and consistently support one another. With a problem-solving mindset at its core, the team is deeply committed to the Chapter’s ongoing success.

This role would be ideal for an outstanding coordinator who is adaptable with strong administrative skills and stakeholder engagement focus.
Specifically, you will have:
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in a professional environment and coordinator responsibilities.
- Proven experience working in small teams, engaging with diverse tasks and multiple administrative responsibilities.
- Exhibit results and goals-oriented approach.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, the ability to interact and build rapport confidently with key internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills using a variety of media, including the ability to write a range of documents including minutes and reports succinctly and appropriately.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure meeting set deliverables and to tight timelines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Ability to work flexibly; autonomously identifies and proactively initiates actions which contribute to process operations and can also collaborate effectively as a part of an inter-disciplinary team.
- Sound critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyse, interpret, contextualise and present clear and meaningful information to support productive decision making.
- Experience providing client-based services with positive customer service values.
- Database management, analysis of data and development of reports, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated expertise in a range of PC applications including:
SharePoint, Word, Excel & Outlook
Demonstrated experience working with a Learning Management System
Experience with and an aptitude to learn and confidently use in-house database systems and applications
Desirable:
- Committee support experience.
- Prior experience in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness.
